Hi there. Don't need to partake in this journal if you don't want to but I was bored XD
Anyway, I have a question to ask the drivers in the US. I know that America has a large amount of drivers over there who have vehicles which have automatic transmissions. While over here in the UK, we consist mostly of manual transmissons (or gear boxes) which require us to balance out the accelerator and the clutch to change a gear and get power into a car/bike/truck etc. I was wondering if perhaps anyone in the US drives a manual transmission too and how they compare to an automatic.
I know for a fact that if you learn in an automatic, you can only drive automatics. But if you learn and are tought in a maual, you ca drive both at all times. And since it seems nearly 80-85% of Americans have an automatic transmission, which do you really prefer and have you really given manuals a chance if you didn't learn to drive one yet?

Makes sense when you think about it. I don't think it should be too hard to learn.

And I hear different things to hearing the engine, to monitoring the RPMs and speed.

Personally I'd rather have an automatic at this point because it's more practical for me, though I do love driving manuals. A lot of newer cars have the option of automanual mode, in which you get to manually tell the transmission which gear to be in, so in these cases, it's not as much of a loss.
PS. If you're right-handed, what's it like shifting a manual with your left hand? I'm right-handed and over here since we drive on the right, the shifter is on the right too, so I steer with my left hand and shift with my right.
